About Coach Morgan

Morgan is a USA swim coach and Level 1 American Swimming Coaches Association. Her niche is open water coaching and swimming. She is currently a Developmental Coach at the Piedmont Swim Team in Oakland and training for her upcoming Catalina Island 21mile swim crossing in July 2010.
Morgan Filler has been training, racing and mentoring with high school swimmers during her Professional swimming and Olympic training years.
She has won numerous international races lasting up to 11 hours and has maintained top rankings in the 2 mile races. When it comes to battling the natural elements Morgan is unstoppable. It’s this determination that situated her as 3rd in the woman’s World Cup rankings and has earned her a much sought after place on the US National Open Water Team. Morgan spent four years on an international pro-circuit and World Cup Series for Open Water Marathon Swimming, training full time with the top distance team, the Mission Viejo Natadores, in southern California. She competed in Japan, Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Macedonia, Slovenia and Egypt. This circuit of races was in lakes, rivers and oceans and ranged from 10 km(two hours) to 88 km(ten hours). Morgan won a 25 km World Cup race in Japan and a 28.2mile swim around Manhattan Island, NY. She has finished in the top 5 in every professional international race that she’s ever competed in, all the while battling waves, hypothermia, dehydration, sea life, boats, extreme heat, wind, and/or nausea. During this time, she was a member of the US National Open water team whose exploits were recognized by the
International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame for Marathon Swimming.
